A Blackhawk will be visiting Mount Pleasant High School

Mount Pleasant will be visited by a Blackhawk Helicopter - For good reasons.

According to the Daily Tribune, There will be a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter landing at Mount Pleasant High School. No worries, this is not any hostile action; it is actually quite the opposite. They will handle this with two pilots, and 2 crew chiefs, one of which is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School.

All members of this group will be available for student's to ask questions with the goal of gaining information on a career in the army reserve. Ironically,  every member of this flight is a part of the Army Reserve. The full crew will be conducting recruiting exercises to not only inform students on what joining the reserve would be like.

When is this happening?

From the date of this publishing, the helicopter will touch down next Friday at 10:45 am. It will then depart at around 2pm heading back to Fort Hood.

This would be a great opportunity for any child that may want to have a future in helicopters, aviation, or the military to gain some first hand knowledge of what it's like to be a part of an aviation crew. In addition to being able to ask questions, its just plain cool to see a Blackhawk helicopter touch down in any situation. Extra points if they let students out of class to go and visit.

Commonly they hold assemblies or set up tables, but this will be a great way to garner children's attention. A simple table and brochures handed out by men in uniform might work for the most part. However, seeing them in action might promote them to be more invested in wanting to do something like that. As more information is available, we will provide an update. For now, I want to hear your take on it.

How would you react to the Reserve sending a Blackhawk with full crew to talk to students about a career in the military?
